Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager for a major civil engineering project.\n\nSite Manager Responsibilities\n\n * Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.\n\n * Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site operatives, plant, and materials.\n\n * Quantify materials from drawings and raise material requisitions.\n\n * Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide on-site delivery.\n\n * Proactively raise and track RFIs/ EWN and raise internal CE paperwork.\n\n * Ensure all groundworks activities (excavation, drainage, concrete works, foundations, roads, etc.) are delivered to specification, with all QA records kept up to date.\n\n * Maintain accurate daily site records and progress updates.\n\n * Promote health and safety compliance, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and briefings on method statements and risk assessments.\n\n * Liaise with clients, contracts managers, engineers, and senior management to provide updates and resolve issues.\n\n * Oversee site logistics including deliveries, materials handling, and waste management.\n\n * Ensure plant and machinery are used safely and maintained properly.\n\n * Prepare and write method statements, risk assessments, and QA documentation as required by the Principal Contractor.\n\n * Desirable Experience & Qualifications:\n\n * Background in commercial or infrastructure groundworks.\n\n * Civil engineering qualification or equivalent.\n\n * NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).\n\n * Must hold SMSTS.\n\nPLEASE NOTE - ONLY EXPERIENCED SITE MANAGERS WITH A CIVILS BACKGROUND WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY
